While the past fall brought severe weather, particularly the heavy rains and winds from Hurricane Helene that caused significant damage to the plantation, Gurosik’s has bounced back remarkably. Despite challenges, including a tough frost in March that affected the initial crop’s yield, the farm is seeing bright prospects, with a second crop of strawberries expected to be both plentiful and sweeter than the first. For those eager to pick their own strawberries, Gurosik’s U-Pick hours are pretty generous! Swing by from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to pop into the farm market, which stays open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
