Augusta, GA – The Augusta University men’s basketball team has bolstered its roster for the 2025-26 season with the addition of talented players, including transfer guard Ryan Conway and incoming freshmen Rodney Scott and DaRon Dunbar. Head coach Dip Metress announced these signings, emphasizing their potential impact on the upcoming season.
Ryan Conway, a 6’1″ junior guard from Baltimore, Md., joins the Jaguars after playing at Howard Community College and Towson University. During his time at Howard, Conway made a significant contribution by averaging 11.0 points per game, achieving an impressive 42% shooting rate from the field and 41% from three-point range. At Towson, he averaged 6.4 points per game with a shooting percentage of 40% from beyond the arc. Moreover, DaRon Dunbar, a 6’4″ guard from North Augusta, S.C., adds another layer of talent to the Jaguars’ lineup. Dunbar, coming from North Augusta High School, had an impressive senior season, averaging 18.9 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. Coach Metress commented on Dunbar’s efficiency on the offensive end and expressed anticipation for his continued growth as a player.
The Augusta University Jaguars finished the regular season with a record of 19-10, earning them the No. 6 seed in the upcoming NCAA Southeast Region Tournament. They are slated to face the No. 3 seed Lenoir-Rhyne, who boasts a solid record of 26-5.
