Augusta, GA – Augusta University’s men’s basketball team is set to welcome several new players for the 2025-26 season, reinforcing its roster with fresh talent. The new additions include freshman guard Rodney Scott, freshman forward Daniel Daramola, and junior transfer Ryan Conway.
Rodney Scott, a 5’10” guard from Baltimore, Maryland, is one of the highlights of the new recruitment class. He comes from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School where he demonstrated exceptional skills on the court. Coach Dip Metress noted that Scott brings significant speed and quickness to the backcourt, which will enhance both the offensive and defensive dynamics of the team. In his senior year, Scott averaged 7 points and 5 assists per game, leading his high school to win both a regular season title and a conference tournament championship. His performance earned him First Team All-Baltimore Catholic League and First Team All-Baltimore Sun honors, along with his school’s Leadership Award, highlighting his capability to lead his teammates.
Joining Scott is Daniel Daramola, a 6’9″ forward from Decatur, Georgia. Daramola previously attended Greenforest Christian High School and has made an inspiring transition from Lagos, Nigeria, to the United States. His on-court achievements include an impressive average of 17.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game in his senior season, contributing to his team’s back-to-back state championships. Daramola’s accolades include three First Team All-Region selections and two All-State honors, showcasing his competitive edge and impact on the game.
The incoming class also features junior transfer Ryan Conway, a 6’1″ guard from Baltimore, Maryland. Conway brings valuable experience to the team, having played at both Howard Community College and Towson University. His time at Howard was marked by an average of 11 points per game, shooting 42% from the field and an impressive 41% from beyond the three-point line. At Towson, Conway contributed 6.4 points per game with a 40% three-point shooting rate. His scoring ability, leadership qualities, and engaging personality will add depth to Augusta’s backcourt.
Along with Scott, Daramola, and Conway, Augusta’s recruiting class also includes DaRon Dunbar, who averaged 18.9 points and 8 rebounds as a senior. This diverse group of newcomers is expected to enhance the team’s competitiveness as they prepare for the upcoming season.
