Born on a farm in Jefferson County, GA, Conrad spent his early years in the area before attending public schools in Augusta. He graduated from Richmond Academy, where he laid the groundwork for a life characterized by dedication to family and community service. After completing his education, Conrad served four years in the United States Air Force, showcasing his commitment to his country.

Following his military service, Conrad became a loyal employee of the U.S. Postal Service. During his lengthy career, he held various positions before retiring in 1992 as the manager of the Forest Hills Branch. His work ethic and dedication earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and customers alike.

Active in his church, Conrad was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, where he undertook several roles including greeter, usher, and administrative trustee. His involvement in church activities reflected his commitment to his faith and the betterment of his community.

Conrad was an enthusiastic traveler, with a special fondness for visiting Tybee Island and the mountain regions. He enjoyed various hobbies, including golfing, gardening, and home repair, all of which served to enrich his life and that of those around him. A passionate fan of Georgia Bulldog football, he embraced family gatherings that often included spirited discussions about the team’s fortunes.

He is survived by his three children: Bret Alan Goodwin, Troy Goodwin, and Tina Goodwin Nakagawa, alongside five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Conrad was preceded in death by his sons, Bart Goodwin and Tony Goodwin, and his former wife, June E. Goodwin.

A memorial service to honor Conrad’s life is scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn United Methodist Church. The service will be officiated by Rev. Bernard “Sonny” Mason. Friends and community members are invited to offer their condolences to the family beginning at 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice, reflecting Conrad’s generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Funeral services will be handled by Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors in Augusta, GA.

Conrad B. Goodwin’s legacy of service, love for family, and dedication to his community will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His impact on the Augusta area is indelible, and he will be missed by many.
