Aiken, SC – Community Mourns the Passing of Local Resident Calvin H. Coach Sr. at Age 76

Calvin H. Coach Sr., a respected member of the Aiken community, passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His death has prompted an outpouring of grief from family, friends, and neighbors who remember him for his kindness and deep-rooted ties to the community.

Funeral services for Coach will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3rd, at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church. Following the service, interment will take place in the church cemetery. A viewing for those wishing to pay their respects will occur from 1 – 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2nd, at the funeral home. Calvin H. Coach Sr. is survived by his devoted wife, Willie Mae Coach. He leaves behind a loving family that includes two daughters, Debbie L. Cooper (William) of Paterson, NJ, and Tammie D. Barleston (Lonnie) of Augusta, GA. He is also survived by two sons, Calvin H. Coach Jr. (Jessica) of Barnwell, SC, and Walter Coach of North Augusta, SC. Coach was a proud grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and had the joy of being a great-grandfather to sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his immediate family, Coach is survived by two sisters: Beverly C. Harris of Beech Island, SC, and Sheila Coach of Beech Island, SC. A wide circle of relatives and friends also mourns his passing, highlighting the impact he had throughout his life.

Born and raised in Aiken, Calvin H. Coach Sr. became an integral part of the local community, known for his generous spirit and willingness to help others. His legacy will be remembered by the numerous lives he touched. Friends and community members are encouraged to call at the family residence to offer condolences during this difficult time.
