North Augusta, S.C. – Authorities are actively searching for Susan Rhodes, a woman who went missing following a vehicle crash on Gregory Lake Road near the entrance to the Gregory Landing subdivision on Tuesday. The incident occurred when one of the vehicles involved left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.
Following the collision, Rhodes exited her vehicle and wandered into the nearby woods. Witnesses reported that she was wearing a bright red shirt and appeared disoriented, which raises concerns that she may be experiencing a medical issue.
Law enforcement agencies involved in the search operations include the North Augusta Public Safety, Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, and Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. The search commenced around 4:30 PM on Wednesday and continued into the evening, concluding around 9:15 PM. Search efforts were resumed Thursday morning at 7:30 AM and have been enhanced with the use of foot searches, K-9 units, and drones.
Authorities confirmed that Rhodes was last seen in the yard of a residence located at 2224 Gregory Lake Road. According to reports, she is described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and was last seen wearing tan pants, black shoes, and an arm sling.
