In Augusta, two teenagers were arrested after a road rage shooting on Interstate 20 that injured two 18-year-olds. The suspects, identified as Cameron Howard and Miranda Myers, face serious charges. Augusta, GA – Two teenagers have been arrested following a road rage shooting on Interstate 20 that left two individuals injured. The incident occurred on June 29, 2025, around 4:30 p.m. near mile marker 196, close to Bobby Jones Expressway, prompting immediate action from law enforcement.
The victims, an 18-year-old male from Augusta and an 18-year-old female from Thomson, were traveling in a gray Toyota Camry when the altercation unfolded. The male driver sustained a gunshot wound to his left ankle, while the female passenger suffered a gunshot injury to her left shoulder. Both were transported to Doctors Hospital for treatment and are currently listed in stable condition.
A blue Tesla allegedly containing the suspects pulled alongside the Camry. Reports indicate that a black male passenger, later identified as 17-year-old Cameron Howard, pointed a firearm out of the passenger window and discharged 5 to 6 rounds at the victims’ vehicle. The Tesla fled the scene shortly after the shooting, taking the exit at Belair Road.
Emergency responders swiftly initiated a search for the vehicle, leading to arrests shortly thereafter. Miranda Myers, the 17-year-old driver from North Augusta, and Howard were apprehended, with Howard attempting to evade capture. They now face serious charges stemming from the incident. Myers has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, while Howard faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The shooting incident is reflective of a troubling trend in the region, with authorities noting an increase in road rage-related violence. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the situation and looking into similar reports made over the same weekend.
