Augusta, Georgia – Augusta University head men’s basketball coach Dip Metress announced the signing of two new athletes, sophomore guard Tobias Prall and freshman guard Charlie McBeath, to the 2025-26 roster. These additions come at a significant time as the Jaguars prepare for an upcoming NCAA Southeast Region Tournament, aiming to build on their current season performance.

Tobias Prall, a 6’2″ guard from Trenton, New Jersey, previously played for Southeast Arkansas College, where he had an impressive performance during the 2024-25 season. In his 29 games, he averaged 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Prall showcased his shooting ability with a field goal percentage of 44.0 percent and a remarkable three-point shooting percentage of 41.9 percent. Notably, he sank over 100 three-pointers last year, positioning him among the top junior college shooters in the nation.

Coach Metress praised Prall for his high shooting rate and readiness for the challenges of collegiate basketball. With such a strong scoring background, Prall is expected to contribute significantly to the Jaguars’ offense.

Alongside Prall, Charlie McBeath, a 6’5″ freshman guard from Sydney, Australia, will also join the team. McBeath previously played for the Bankstown Bruins in the NBL1, where he participated in 13 games during the 2024-25 season. During that period, he averaged 10.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He demonstrated his shooting skills with a field goal percentage of 47.6 percent, a three-point shooting percentage of 41.3 percent, and an impressive free throw percentage of 91.7 percent.

Coach Metress highlighted McBeath’s dedication and competitive spirit, stating that he brings a relentless approach to the court. With these qualities, McBeath is expected to add depth and versatility to the Jaguars’ lineup.

The Augusta University men’s basketball team concluded the regular season with a 19-10 record, earning themselves the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament. They are set to face No. 3 seed Lenoir-Rhyne, which holds a record of 26-5, in the opening round of the tournament. This match-up will test the skills and synergy of the newly signed players against a formidable opponent.

The NCAA Southeast Region Tournament will be hosted by the top-seeded Columbus State, who boast a record of 26-4. As the tournament approaches, details regarding the brackets, game times, and ticket information are expected to be released shortly, providing fans and supporters with the information necessary to follow the team’s postseason journey.

With the addition of Tobias Prall and Charlie McBeath, the Augusta University Jaguars are looking to enhance their performance in the NCAA tournament, aiming for a strong showing that could lead to a successful postseason.
