The Augusta community is grieving the loss of Anne Watson Fischer, Tony Lee Green, and Megan Elizabeth Anna. Each individual made significant contributions to the community and is remembered for their generosity and kindness. Family and friends are coming together to honor their legacies and support one another during this challenging time.
Augusta, GA – The community of Augusta is mourning the loss of three beloved residents: Anne Watson Fischer, Tony Lee Green, and Megan Elizabeth Anna. Their passings have left a significant void in the hearts of their families and friends, and tributes have poured in to celebrate their lives and contributions to the community.
Anne Watson Fischer passed away on May 9, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 11, 1953, at Ft. Gordon, GA, she was the eldest of four children born to Major Richard E. and Margaret Ledford Watson. Anne was predeceased by her grandparents, parents, husband, Harry Fischer, and two of her siblings. She is survived by three sons: Kenneth W. Grier, John David Grier, and Michael C. Grier, along with numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Anne’s family expressed gratitude to the staff at Augusta Gardens and Heartland Hospice for their care during her final days. A funeral service honoring her life will be held on July 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, officiated by Rev. Greg Hatfield.
Tony Lee Green, aged 68, passed away on July 3, 2025. Born on November 22, 1956, Tony lived in various locations, including Harlem, GA, and Anchorage, AK. He is survived by his wife, Annie Green, three daughters, and a stepson, along with his two brothers. Tony was looking forward to becoming a grandfather with the imminent arrival of his grandson, Bennett Lillis.
Known for his strong faith, love of storytelling, and passion for nature, Tony was an active member of Word of Life Church. A service celebrating his life took place on July 11, 2025, at Word of Life Church in Appling, GA.
Megan Elizabeth Anna entered into rest on April 21, 2025, at the tender age of 20. Born on November 6, 2004, in Erie, PA, she was the daughter of Dr. Christopher and Katherine Anna. She had two brothers, Bryson and Jacob, with whom she shared a deep bond. Megan was remembered for her warmth, creativity, and love for music, literature, and culinary experiences.
A gifted pianist, she worked at Turner’s Keyboards of Augusta and had a passion for Japanese culture, having taught herself the language and traveled to Japan with her brother. Megan is survived by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends, and her beloved dog, Zane. Her funeral service is scheduled for May 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel at Warren Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
The deaths of Anne, Tony, and Megan have united the Augusta community in a shared sense of loss. Each individual touched the lives of many and was known for their generosity, kindness, and community involvement. Memorials and services are expected to draw family, friends, and community members who will come together to celebrate their legacies and provide support to one another during this difficult time.
The community will remember Anne, Tony, and Megan not only for their accomplishments but also for the love and joy they brought to the lives of those around them. As the residents of Augusta gather to honor their memory, their spirits will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
