An Augusta man has been arrested for shooting into an occupied vehicle early Saturday morning, with a fortunate outcome as an infant in the car remains unharmed. The incident occurred after a verbal altercation and led to a swift response from law enforcement, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect by midday. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) has arrested a man for allegedly shooting into an occupied vehicle early Saturday morning, July 19, 2025. Fortunately, an infant who was in the car remains unharmed, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
At approximately 12:39 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Reese Avenue after receiving reports that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire. The individuals inside the vehicle reported a prior verbal altercation at a convenience store located on Peach Orchard Road. As they were heading home, multiple shots were fired at their vehicle, prompting the occupants to seek safety.
Following the incident, investigators collected evidence from the scene to assist in resolving the case. Later that day, at around 4:47 p.m., deputies located and pulled over a suspect identified as 31-year-old Rodriquez Brown on Bahama Drive. Brown was taken into custody and subsequently arrested.
He now faces multiple charges, with additional charges expected as the investigation continues. The swift response and collaboration among various divisions of the sheriff’s office were recognized as key factors in addressing the situation effectively.
