Atlanta, Georgia – Georgia has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 5 million jobs for the first time in state history, according to a report released by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) on June 2025. The state’s unemployment rate has also dropped to an impressive 3.5%, remaining unchanged since May of the same year. This unemployment rate is notably six-tenths lower than the national unemployment rate.
In June alone, Georgia added 9,100 jobs, bringing the total number of jobs to an unprecedented 5,001,100. Over the past year, the state has seen an increase of 29,800 jobs, indicating a trend of growth and stability in the labor market. The state’s consistent job growth has contributed to its recognition as the No. 1 state for business for 11 consecutive years.
