Cawley was a proud member of Abilene Baptist Church, where he was deeply rooted in the faith community. He lived his life with quiet strength and a strong sense of principle, values that he imparted to his children and grandchildren. His unwavering commitment to his beliefs was evident in every aspect of his life, whether through his service in the military or his involvement in church activities.

As a veteran, Cawley honorably served in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that he looked back on with immense pride and gratitude. His dedication to service extended beyond his time in the military, influencing those around him throughout his lifetime. Friends and family will remember him as a man of warmth and compassion, someone who consistently demonstrated love and support for his loved ones.

Milton Cawley was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marian, and his daughter, Vickie. He is survived by two sons, Milton L. Cawley Jr. (Lee) and his wife, Rose, of North Augusta, SC, and Christopher C. Cawley and his wife, Alice. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, including Allison L. Cawley of North Augusta, Lindsey A. Cawley of Tempe, AZ, Christopher C. Cawley Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, and Winter Cawley Davis and her husband, Jonathan. He was a proud grandfather to his great-grandchildren: Hannah Elizabeth, Joshua Samuel, Ruthie Sophia, and Victoria Esther Davis.

A graveside service to honor Milton Cawley will be held on August 3, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, located at 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906. A visitation will take place 30 minutes prior to the service. During the ceremony, military honors will be performed in recognition of Cawley’s service to the country.

Milton Cawley’s legacy is marked by his loving spirit and his steadfast faith, which will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. His life serves as a reminder of the values of integrity, devotion, and love, making a lasting impact on family, friends, and the larger community.
