Georgia Highlands College (GHC) is launching a new Patient Care Technician (PCT) program at its Cartersville campus, starting on August 12 and running through December 11. The program aims to develop skilled professionals for high-demand roles in healthcare settings, offering both theoretical and practical training.
Classes will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The curriculum, under the direction of healthcare educator Donna Mathias, includes a hands-on approach designed to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in various healthcare environments, such as hospitals and clinics. The program also comprises in-person instruction complemented by clinical rotations at Piedmont Hospital in Cartersville.
