Eula was born on March 28, 1943, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to parents Buel and Ruth Triplett. After graduating from Northwest High School in Forsythe County, she married her high school sweetheart, Henry E. Chambers Jr., on September 3, 1961, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Their enduring partnership exemplified her commitment to family and community.
Throughout her life, Eula spent substantial time supporting military families. She led the Non-Commissioned Officers Wives Club at Fort Bliss, Texas, and held the same leadership role at both Winn Army Community Hospital in Fort Stewart, Georgia, and Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Her efforts in these organizations earned her numerous awards and commendations, particularly for her tenure as Treasurer for the Army Sergeant Major Academy.
Eula was also an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities, including a prominent role in the church choir and as the Awana’s Cubies leader for nine years. She retired after eight years as Clerk Supervisor for JC Penney’s, which further highlights her commitment to service and leadership.
She is survived by her husband, Henry E. Chambers Jr., along with their four children: Cris Chambers, Delfina Matheny, Brian Chambers Sr., and Alisha Cruce, who is married to Darrel Cruce. Eula’s family also includes her brother Steven Triplett and sister Kathleen Rudder, as well as a thriving lineage of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Nathan Tyson, Michael Chambers, Alex Chambers, Cristina Jiminez, Devin Jiminez, Tonya Davis, Cole Davis, Brian Chambers Jr., Gaby Chambers, Haley Collier, and Nick Collier. The great-grandchildren include Nicholas Jiminez, Vera Jiminez, Kellen Jiminez, Ally Grace Davis, Parker Davis, Lukas Collier, and Henry Collier.
The family has expressed gratitude to MSA Hospice of Columbia, SC, and the dedicated staff and doctors at Doctors Hospital of Augusta, GA, for their compassionate care during her final days.
Visitation services for Eula Dean Chambers will be held on August 15, 2025, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Platts Funeral Home, located at 337 North Belair Road, Evans, Georgia. Her funeral service is scheduled for August 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church, situated at 4594 Columbia Rd., Martinez, Georgia. Pastor Joe Woods will officiate the service. Following the funeral, burial will take place at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, located at 4051 Wrightsboro Rd., Grovetown, Georgia.
