Augusta, GA – The community is coming together to mourn the passing of DiAnn Fehler Peeples, a beloved church leader and matriarch of the Peeples family, who entered into rest on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the age of 81. DiAnn was widely regarded for her warm nurturing spirit, exceptional contributions to her church, and enduring legacy within her family.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. J. Keith Peeples, their daughter, Kay Peeples Simpson, and her husband John Traynham Simpson, Sr., as well as their son, Kenneth William Peeples, and his wife Clarisse Ann Peeples. DiAnn was also a devoted grandmother, leaving behind six grandchildren: John Traynham Simpson, Jr. (and wife Alyssa), Sophia Simpson Hiatt (and husband Chandler), Maria Lynn Lemoine, Nathaniel Coleman Peeples (and wife Georgia), Keith Francis Peeples, and Kallum William Peeples. Additionally, she had two great-grandchildren, Abraham James Lemoine II and August Rose Simpson, with an additional great-grandson expected later this year.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Trinity on the Hill Global Methodist Church. It will be officiated by Rev. Scott Hearn and Rev. Roy McVeigh. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright colors to honor DiAnn’s signature style, and the family will receive friends in the Gathering Area of the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Good Neighbor Ministries in Augusta, Georgia.
Born on May 13, 1944, in Goldsboro, NC, DiAnn began her journey when she married Keith Peeples in 1962. Her career spanned over three decades in the medical field, where she specialized in technology and IT systems. DiAnn started as an office administrator in 1967 and advanced to become a program analyst, information system specialist, and senior customer service leader, leaving a significant impact at the Medical College of Georgia.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, DiAnn’s commitment to her church was profound. For the last 30 years, she served as a “church mom” and “Ninny” at Trinity on the Hill, contributing greatly as a member of the church choir. She was actively involved in Bible studies, women’s retreats, and often took on leadership roles within the congregation. Notably, DiAnn also worked as the church’s wedding coordinator, where she meticulously handled every detail to ensure that special days for couples were memorable.
DiAnn’s nurturing attitude extended well beyond the walls of the church. She was a beloved figure among the children she mentored, providing guidance and care from their childhood through their weddings. Her dedication to her family was evident as she continually advocated for their well-being, ensuring that they felt loved and supported.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Richard Fehler, and her infant son, Richard Edward Peeples.
