Hephzibah, GA – SFC (Ret.) Clarence Pauldin passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the age of 85. His family has scheduled a memorial service to honor his life on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2 p.m. The service will take place at the Williams Funeral Home, located at 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815.
Clarence Pauldin is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Davis Pauldin, of Hephzibah, GA. He leaves behind three children: Chantele’ (Tony) Lawson of Hephzibah, GA, Kiersten Tolbert of Summerville, SC, and Felicia Johnson of North Augusta, SC. Clarence was also a proud grandfather to several grandchildren, including Devin Tobert of Lemoore, California; Bryant J. Smith Sr. of Augusta, GA; Sanaa Lawson of Hephzibah, GA; and Addison Johnson of North Augusta, SC. Additionally, he was blessed with one great-grandchild, Bryant J. Smith Jr. of Augusta, GA.
Clarence Pauldin also maintained a close relationship with his godson, Anthony Jenkins of Augusta, GA, and is survived by his brother, Wilson (Ruth) Pauldin, who resides in Fayetteville, NC. His extended family includes his mother-in-law, Patricia A. D. Love; father-in-law, Willie (Josephine) Sturgis Sr.; and multiple brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law residing in the Augusta area. He is further remembered by five aunts, one uncle, and a wide network of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Clarence Pauldin’s honor. The family is also encouraging attendees of the memorial service to wear light or uplifting colors, honoring Clarence’s spirit, rather than dark colors typically associated with mourning.
Clarence Pauldin’s life and service spanned many years, during which he became a beloved figure to those who knew him. His legacy continues through his family, friends, and the countless individuals he influenced throughout his life.
