AUGUSTA, Ga. — Foodees Fest is back in downtown Augusta through Sunday evening, with more than 100 food and craft vendors along Fifth and Reynolds Streets and a section of artisans and sellers on the Freedom Bridge.

The yearly bazaar, which celebrates cuisines from across the country and around the world, returned Friday afternoon. It is scheduled Nov. 6 through 8. Friday’s window is 1-7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday run from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Admission is free. Organizers still ask guests to sign up in advance so vendors can stock enough food and supplies. More than 100 food stalls share the streets with crafters and makers for a weekend aimed at families.

A folding chair is a smart extra, because sitting space is not guaranteed. Some booths prefer cards and others cash, so carrying both avoids a surprise at the window. Plans are to stay open through ordinary weather, so it helps to look at the sky before leaving home.

Drivers may find unpaid spaces on the grounds or along nearby streets, and garages that charge a fee sit close by. It is wise to allow extra time to get there and find a space when crowds peak, and the location makes it easy to duck into nearby restaurants and shops. Sunday is the last day, with vendors scheduled through 7 p.m. The artisan stretch on Freedom Bridge is part of that last-day layout.

The weekend is aimed at all ages, with hot dishes, sweets and snacks set out beside handmade goods. Organizers present it as a community gathering built around food and small businesses in the heart of downtown.
