To participate in the election, all voters must present a valid photo ID when casting their votes in person. For those who prefer to vote in advance, advance voting will be conducted from May 27 to June 13, with designated locations available throughout Richmond County.

Advance Voting Locations and Hours

Advance voting will take place at the following sites:

  • Linda W. Beazley Community Room, 535 Telfair St.
  • Henry Brigham Community Center, 2463 Golden Camp Rd.
  • Robert Howard Community Center, 103 Diamond Lakes Way.
  • Warren Road Recreation Center, 300 Warren Road.

Vote by Mail Options

Residents looking to vote by mail can apply until June 6, with mail-in ballots set to begin shipping on May 27. This provides an alternative for those unable to vote in person or during the advance voting period.

Changes to Polling Locations

It is important for voters to note that changes to polling locations will affect voters from two precincts. Voters from Asbury will now cast their ballots at the Charles Evans Community Center, while those from Augusta Deliverance will vote at Mann-Mize. Election officials are currently accepting written objections to these changes until the next meeting.

Voting Machine Upgrades

In light of the upcoming election, the Richmond County Registrar is seeking to upgrade voting machines, which have reached their 10-year lifespan and are subject to stringent certification standards under the new VVSG 2.0 guidelines. There is a potential collaboration among eight counties to seek a discount on the acquisition of new voting machines, aimed at enhancing the electoral process in the region.

Looking Ahead

As the Richmond County Board of Elections prepares for the election, they are also reviewing the advance voting policy implemented in 2024 to consider potential changes for the years 2025 and 2026. However, the board has confirmed that the current policy will remain in place for the immediate upcoming election.
