Atlanta, Georgia – U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff announced over $13 million in new federal funding designated for upgrades to regional airports across Georgia. The improvements are anticipated to boost local businesses and improve the accessibility of community resources.

The funding marks a significant investment in the state’s aviation infrastructure, which will address a variety of necessary projects ranging from terminal upgrades to safety improvements. Prior to this announcement, last October, Senators Warnock and Ossoff had successfully secured more than $19 million for Georgia airports through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminal Program. In September 2024, they achieved over $60 million in federal investments dedicated to further airport upgrades across the state. Additionally, in May 2024, they facilitated the delivery of more than $120 million in federal grant funding to enhance airport infrastructure.

The overarching goal of this financial support is to significantly enhance the operational capabilities of Georgia’s airports, which are vital to regional connectivity and economic resilience. These infrastructure projects not only aim to improve safety and efficiency but are also expected to underpin future job creation, ensuring that local communities can better access resources and opportunities.

The funding underscores a commitment to modernizing aviation facilities and fostering an environment conducive to economic growth across Georgia. This recent announcement, along with previous funding achievements, reflects the ongoing efforts of state leaders to prioritize infrastructure development as a means of enhancing the quality of life and economic prospects for Georgians.
