Augusta, Georgia – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for two suspects, James Sullivan and Calvin C. Philpot Jr., wanted for separate aggravated assault charges stemming from recent shootings in Augusta. Both individuals are considered armed and dangerous, prompting officials to urge the community to assist in their apprehension.

James Sullivan is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on June 6 at the Azalea Park Apartments located in the 1800 block of Fayetteville Drive. Sullivan is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, and is known to frequent the Jennings Holmes area as well as Azalea Park Apartments. In addition to aggravated assault, he also faces charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Calvin C. Philpot Jr. is being sought for aggravated assault related to a shooting that took place on May 19 on the 2500 block of Lyman Street. Philpot stands at 5 feet 9 inches and weighs approximately 115 pounds. He is known to frequent the CK Mart on Deans Bridge Road. Similar to Sullivan, Philpot is also wanted for possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized the seriousness of the situation, considering both men to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 706-821-1258 or 706-821-1080.

In related news, Darryl “DJ” Jenkins, who was previously wanted for aggravated assault in an incident along the 3600 block of Alene Circle, was taken into custody a day after the shooting occurred. Jenkins is known to have frequented areas around Meadowbrook Drive, Goldfinch Drive, and the 3300 block of Deans Bridge Road.

In a separate incident, the community has been shaken by the tragic death of a 16-month-old boy, described as a “suspicious death” by local authorities. A grieving mother is calling on the community to offer their prayers and support during this painful time.

On Monday, two individuals, Jessamyne Brown, 25, and Quortez Campbell, 26, were arrested for aggravated assault linked to a shooting incident at the Budget Inn and Suites. The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m., with witnesses reporting hearing multiple gunshots, estimated to be at least eight. Brown and Campbell are facing several charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and multiple counts of criminal damage to property. Unavailability of video surveillance at the scene has hampered the investigation. Witnesses indicated a woman, known only as “Stephanie,” may have been involved in previous criminal activity tied to the hotel, including a robbery case.

Additionally, Dalyn Elder, 20, is on the sheriff’s watch list for aggravated assault related to an incident that occurred on Central Avenue on May 20. He is often seen around Ellis and 15th Streets, and law enforcement considers him to be another armed and dangerous individual. The sheriff’s office has reiterated the importance of community involvement in reporting any information regarding Elder’s location.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant in addressing violent crime in the community and continues to encourage citizens to report suspicious activity that may assist in the immediate case resolutions. As investigations proceed, authorities are focused on maintaining public safety and bringing those responsible for these violent incidents to justice.
