AUGUSTA, Ga. — Downtown Augusta has a weekend full of food on the calendar, as FoodeesFest runs from Friday through Sunday with food trucks, local restaurants and a row of makers selling their goods.
The lineup mixes food trucks with local restaurants, dessert makers and beverage makers, and it adds artisans and crafters for visitors who want to shop between bites.
Organizers frame the weekend as a chance to gather with neighbors, with the food serving as the draw rather than the whole point. The idea is to give people a spot to spend time together, find new favorite places to eat and support the local and regional businesses taking part.
There is no charge to get in. Organizers say the festival is vendor-supported, which is why admission stays free, and they ask guests to register for free tickets so the trucks and booths know how much to stock and cook ahead of the crowds.
Signing up is optional, and people can still attend without registering. Each registration is entered into a drawing for a free meal, a swag bag and other prizes.
The festival is aimed at all ages and runs through the daytime and early evening, so families are welcome to bring the whole crew. Seating can vary by venue, and organizers suggest bringing lawn chairs or other portable seats for a guaranteed spot to sit and eat.
Visitors are invited to wander the blocks, sample dishes, browse the craft booths and catch up with friends in the heart of downtown Augusta. Many host venues offer shared seating areas, and the festival often sets out extra tables in marked spots.
Registration and more details are posted on the FoodeesFest website for the Augusta stop.
